How to delete your Instagram account-Introduction
There are two ways you can delete or disable your Instagram account.
- Temporarily disable your account
- Delete your account permanently

Temporarily disable your account...

To temporarily disable your account follow the steps below:
- From a computer, go to instagram.com and sign in. You cannot disable your account temporarily from within the Instagram app.
- Click your profile picture in the upper right corner, then Profile, and finally Edit profile.
- Scroll down and, in the bottom right, click Temporarily disable my account.

Delete your Instagram account permanently.

When you delete your account, all of your profile information, photos, videos, comments, likes, and followers are permanently deleted. If you simply want to take a break, you can disable your account temporarily.

Keep in mind that if your account was deleted for violating Community Guidelines, you may not be able to sign up with the same username again.

To request that your account be permanently deleted, please follow these steps:
- Before you delete your account, you should log in and download a copy of your information from Instagram (such as your photos and posts). You will no longer have access to Instagram’s Data Download tool after your account has been deleted.
- Using a mobile browser or a computer, navigate to the Delete your account Page. If you are not logged in to Instagram on the web, you will be prompted to do so. You can’t delete your Instagram account from within the app.

Conclusion:
Your account and all of your information will be permanently deleted 30 days after you request deletion, and you will not be able to retrieve it.

Downloading your data from Instagram account
You can request a download of your data in machine readable (JSON) format if you want a copy of everything you’ve shared on Instagram. - Enter the email address where you’d like to receive a link to your data and tap Request download.
- Enter your Instagram account password and tap Next, then tap Done.
